Water for the World

Water for the World was originally developed by EWB Canada. Since then, EWB-UK, and in particular the EWB-Oxford branch, partnered with ARUP to update and streamline the module.

Water for the World is EWB-UK's flagship Outreach programme. The version shown here is suitable for younger students (Key Stage 2 or 3) and is recommended as the standard version for running in schools. However, EWB-UK facilitators can also run a special version of the module by ARUP that is better suited to older students (Key Stage 3 or 4), as well as the original version by EWB-Canada.

In each version, students look at the global water situation, investigating how water gets from source to outlet, how it is cleaned and the consequences if it isn't, and how they can work to conserve water. Students then work in teams to build a water filter, interactively using some of the ideas they've learnt about in the presentation.
